Of  Fair Oaks, CA, passed away on August 16, 2016, a native of Northern Ireland, aged 91 years.  In 1957, Vera came to the U.S. Vera loved Los Angeles and became a proud U.S. Citizen. She enjoyed a long career and eventually retired from U.S. Borax. In 1988, she moved to Citrus Heights to be closer to her sister, Moya, after the passing her beloved husband, Vincent. She was very active in the Fair Oaks Parks and Rec PASA program and St. Mel Church. She is survived by her sisters Moya Cook and Patrica Mc Colgan, sister in law Nula Ledwith, nieces, Mary Henriksen and Deirdre Wheeler, and nephew, Brendan Cook. Vera is also survived by a loving circle of nieces and nephews in the U.S., Ireland, and throughout the U.K. Our family would like to thank the staff at Eskaton, Fair Oaks and Sutter Hospice for their loving care. Friends are welcome for visitation from 4-8PM on Thursday, August 18, 2016 with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6PM all at PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, 725-2109) and are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00PM on Friday August 19, 2016 at ST. MEL CATHOLIC CHURCH (4745 Pennsylvania Ave, Fair Oaks, CA.) In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Sacramento Loaves and Fishes organization.
