On February 15, 2017, Betty Whitney passed peacefully at the age of 84 in Orangevale, California, where she lived for over 40 years. Born in Great Falls, MT, she grew up in Cut Bank, MT. Betty graduated from WSU, Pullman and was an Alpha Gamma Delta. Wife of the late Gregg Whitney (Ret. Lt. Col., USAF), she is survived by three children:  Sheila Whitney, Robin (Matt) Cooley and Bob (Mindy) Whitney, five grandchildren: Patrick, Kevin, John, Jack and Laura, and her brother Bill Hupp. Betty was an active member of P.E.O., Chapter SA. She was an avid reader and founded their book club, the Bookies.
