Billy Gordon Clingman, 81 of Penryn, California, passed away on May 7, 2017 at Sutter Roseville Hospital in Roseville, CA.  He was born on December 12, 1935 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Ethel B. Clingman and Della Hilborn.  Bill joined the United States Air Force in 1955 and served for 24 ½ years. He served in Vietnam as a U-10 pilot for one year and continued his military career as a pilot until retirement from the Air Force in 1979 achieving the rank of Lt. Col. In 1980 he began flying for Midway Airlines and then on to Reno Air until mandatory retirement at age 60.  Bill married Ardis Yvonne Dahl in 1955 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. They were happily married for 51 years until Mom’s passing in 2006. He enjoyed his family, golf, and cribbage, Deer Camp with old friends, travel and good food.  Bill also enjoyed attending his military reunions reconnecting with old flying buddies.  Bill was preceded in death by his wife Ardis, his parents, Ethel and Della, his sisters, Marion, Harriett, Jean and Rita.  Bill is survived by his wife Janet of Penryn, CA, his daughters; Kim Clingman of Palo Alto, CA and Leslie (Gary) Gade of Loomis, CA, grandchildren; Kimberly, Kenna, Jenna and Ryan, great-grandchildren; Tyler, Austin, Reagan, Charlie Jean, and Emma Kay who is coming soon.  A memorial service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Saturday (3345 Margaret Dr., Loomis, CA 95650), June 10, 2017 at 11:00am.  The family will be greeting friends and relatives at this time.  PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (916-725-2109), directors.
