Curtis passed away on Sept. 5, 2017 after years of declining health. Born Oct. 22, 1944 in Miami, OK to Lawrence and Mary Monks. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Harold and Clyde.

Curtis grew up splitting time between Sacramento and Lake Oswego, OR. He was a decorated Marine in the Viet Nam War. He retired from UPS after an exemplary driving career.

Survived by his former wife Susan, sons Curtis and Colin (Kathy), grandsons Kameran and Kyle and brothers Merill (Lucille) and Larry (Shirley) and his beloved dog, Lola.

An avid Old Car buff and NASCAR fan, who loved watching or attending all forms of auto racing. He owned many collector cars over the years.

Friends are welcome for visitation from 11:30AM-12:00PM with a small service at 12:00PM on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017 at PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, 725-2109), and are invited to attend the graveside service with full military honors provided by the U.S. Marine Corps at 2:00PM at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery (5810 Midway Rd., Dixon, CA).
