Doctor of Chiropractic, Army Veteran, Soccer Coach & Referee and longtime resident of Sacramento, CA passed away peacefully in the care of his family, at home, on August 28, 2017 at 73 years old. He was born on May 10, 1944 in Auburn, CA. to Rendell Ray Johnson Sr and Elva Oleta Upton. Most of his childhood was spent in Pittsburg, CA. He played football in High School and was always involved in school and church activities as a youth. After High School he served a two year Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in New Zealand. He really enjoyed his time with the Maori people and was very sad to leave them. After his mission he was drafted for the Vietnam War, but thankfully was asked to serve in Korea as a communications specialist. His time in the Army was successful, but after meeting his future wife he decided to leave the Army after his 2+ years of committed service, to come back to the states. After arriving back in the states Rendy and his wife, Chong, stayed in Pittsburg, CA with his family for about 6 months before leaving to attend Palmer Chiropractic School, in Iowa.  While attending school, Rendy worked at a children’s group home and enjoyed his time there because he was able to connect with many of the youth which was very rewarding. Once completing school he brought his family back to Pittsburg, CA and worked various jobs before moving to Sacramento, CA to start his Chiropractic career in 1977. He was a successful Chiropractor and loved his ability to help people while providing for his family. He was extremely devoted to his family, his church service and his career.  He is best known for always showing unconditional love and kindness to others. His generous heart made him a friend of everyone. He was married to his sweetheart, Chong Johnson, for 49 fulfilling years. He is survived by his three Children; Kimberly (Aaron) Barker, Rendell III (Barbara) Johnson and Deah (Walter) Welch and eight Grandchildren; Alesha, Connor, Caleb, Christian, CJ, Camille, Jarom and Aria. His love and devotion to his family and his love for his Savior Jesus Christ, will never be forgotten. His example has left a mark on everyone he came in contact with.
