June 1, 1925 ~ September 23, 2017 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Edith Irene Fuller-Martin-Wootton peacefully passed away on 9-23-2017 at the age of 92.  She was preceded in death by her first husband of 32 years, Cecil V. Martin, and her second husband of 35 years, Tom M. Wootton Senior.  Irene was known for her strong faith in her Church and her commitment to family.  She was born and raised in Boise, Idaho, the middle child of Jess and Edith Fuller.  She was born in a time when few women were given the opportunity to complete a college degree.  She won a full scholarship to the Links School of Business in Boise after High School graduation.  Irene excelled at English, she was legendary in her ability as a ‘Grammarian”.  She mastered the art of Short-Hand, typing and letter writing; she was also well known for her diplomacy.  Irene met her first husband, Cecil, during WWII.  They had three daughters while in Idaho, then relocated to California.  While living in the Bay Area, she worked as an executive secretary for the President of Montgomery Ward.  She moved to Sacramento in 1965, where she took another executive secretarial job for the Director of the State Department of Oil and Gas.  Once again Irene became well known for her outstanding secretarial skills. One of her job duties was to take notes for visiting scientists, then accompany them to lunch.  Many of these scientists were pioneers in their fields.  Irene was an excellent seamstress.  She often made clothes for herself as well as her three daughters.  She designed and made the wedding dresses for all three of her girls.  In 1981, Irene married Tom Wootton Senior.  She and Tom traveled extensively throughout the United States, visiting family and camping in their travel trailer.  Although they preferred to travel within the US, they also traveled to Mexico, Canada and Taiwan.  Irene was preceded in Death by her eldest daughter, Patricia (Patt Pedigo), and her husband Tom M. Wootton Senior.  Irene leaves behind two daughters, Jeanette Calvin (Jim), Sandy Barrett (John), 6 grandchildren: Margaret Debonis (Frank), David Pedigo (Amy), Brett Pedigo (Maria), Richard Travis Maki, Cecil Daniel Maki (Stephanie) and Jennifer Milovina (Adam), 12 great-grand children, 4 great-great grand children with another due in February.  Irene will be greatly missed by friends and family alike.  Services for the family will be held at Cloverdale Memorial Cemetary in Boise, Idaho.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road Sw, Lilburen, Georgia  30047, https://www.lbda.org.  PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (916-725-2109), directors.
