Ella "Fran" Frances Kruger

Ella Frances (Fran) passed away on February 18, 2018, in Sacramento at the age of 81. She was born on December 14, 1936 in Wink, Texas and was raised in Hobbs, New Mexico. Fran was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Robert (Robbie) Kruger, and brother Clinton Bridges. She is survived by her daughters Kori Kruger and husband Clint Swift, Karen Johnson and husband Dave Johnson, and grandson David Johnson. Fran’s husband, Robbie, served in the Air Force for 20 years and moved around the country with her young family. During that time she was the editor of the wives’ club newsletter and a reporter for the base newspaper. She earned her bachelors degree in Journalism in 1975 and worked for the Employment Development Department until she retired in 1992. Fran enjoyed her time as a member of the Gold River Villagers, and the Sacramento Republican Women Federation where she served for a time as the editor of their newsletter. She loved spending time with her grandson, having lunch with her daughters, attending the Music Circus, playing bunco with her friends and going to the movies with the “Angels.” Fran will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, CA. A “Celebration of Life” will follow the service at 12:30 p.m. at North Ridge Country Club, 7600 Madison Ave., Fair Oaks, CA. A donation to the California Musical Theatre would be appreciated in lieu of flowers. Fran will be interred with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery.
