On July 19, 2017 at 8:50PM a strong and faithful heart stopped beating.

LaRene Robbins Cracraft left this home to be with her parents and our Father above. She is survived by her daughter Dana (Dave) Childs and son Dean (Carlotta) Robbins. Grandchildren Bethany Deal, Bonnie (Justin) Williams, Deanna Robbins, Erik Childs and Abigail Robbins and sister Jeanne Cracraft.

LaRene was born in Oakland, CA and attended Fricke Jr. High and Castlemont High School. She graduated from San Francisco State, majoring in music, minoring in history and education. She later received a Masters of Arts in Secondary Education.

LaRene taught in San Francisco for several years and moved on to the San Juan Unified School District. She was instrumental in the development of a program called Charge; the first drug and alcohol free program for addicted minors trying to transition back to mainstream high school. She also served on the Sacramento Drug Advisory Board. She was passionate about helping young people get off drugs and alcohol. She loved to travel with family and friends. She has traveled to Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, Japan, China, Taiwan, the Mediterranean, Mexico, Egypt and Africa.

There will be a celebration of life honoring LaRene on September 9, 2017 from 2-4PM at the Fair Oaks Recreation and Park Clubhouse (4150 Temescal Street, Fair Oaks, CA 95628).
