Ruth Ann Bartos passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024 at the age of 86. A dearly loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother she grew up in Highland, NY and Mildale, CN moving with her family to California in 1951 and settling in Orangevale, CA. She attended San Juan High School in Citrus Heights. After graduating she worked as a secretary at the Sacramento Signal Depot. In 1955 met Michael C. Bartos who was stationed there by the army. They married two years later and remained happily married until Michael’s passing in 1998.
Ruth Ann had several favorite activities during her life. She loved books; she shared that gift with her children. It seemed only natural that she volunteered at the Orangevale Public Library when she was a teenager and then again more recently (2007 to 2020). She shared her love of gardening; all of her children know how grow a vegetable or flower garden. She shared the adventure of travel, taking trips with family and friends. Or going off on her own, most recently this winter flying to Minnesota to visit the family of one of her sons. But her favorite place to visit for almost 40 years was Lake Tahoe.
Ruth Ann spent her life loving and supporting her family and she will be missed very much. She is survived by her four children: Michelle, Rebecca, Andrew and Alexander. Six grandchildren: Hillary, Madelyn, Thor, Max, Renee and Felicia. Six great grandchildren: Raiden, Liam, Kaleb, Ethan, Quinton and soon to arrive, Vincent.
Ruth Ann’s memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 11 at 1:00pm at the Price Funeral Chapel.
