Ann Charlene Wakefield, 85, of Tustin, California, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Eskaton Lodge in Gold River, California.
Ann was born March 24, 1933 in Pasadena, California to Marion and Edna Worrell. She graduated from John Muir High School in Pasadena and from the University of Redlands in Redlands, California with a degree in Education. In 1957, she married Milan Sydney Wakefield, and they were happily married for 59 years.
Ann was a devoted wife and loving mother of three boys. She was always happy and smiling and had a kind heart and loving disposition. Ann was a kindergarten teacher in the Southern California area for over 15 years. She was an active member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Santa Ana.
Ann loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed wildflowers. Yosemite, the Sierra Mountain Range and the High Desert of California were special places where she enjoyed spending her time. She would often collect wildflowers or pine cones on hikes through these areas to use in her crafts with her classes, her children and her grandchildren. Ann also inherited a love of music from her parents and passed it down to her children and grandchildren.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Milan Sydney Wakefield. She is survived by her three sons, James Bryan Wakefield and his wife Kathy Schwiebert of Bend, OR, Todd William Wakefield and his wife Lori of Reno, NV, and Jeff Scott Wakefield and his wife Nancy of Folsom, CA; seven grandchildren and her brother Donn Worrell of Placentia, CA.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30PM on Saturday, January 5, 2018 at Trinity United Presbyterian Church (13922 Prospect Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92705).
