Arlyn Jay Bunton

Arlyn Jay Bunton was born April 30, 1951, to Cecil and Mildred Bunton in Coalinga, California. He is survived by his wife Susan Strebel Bunton, brother Delvin Bunton (Gail) and sisters Loleata Wigall (Steve), Cynda Bunton, and Myra Ragsdale. (Tom). Children Jodi Dougan (Steve), Jared Sherman (Emily), and Sean Bunton (Sook) and 10 grandchildren-Brandon, Garrett, Isabelle, Nathan, Joshua, Carlie, Alex, Matthew, Aaron, and Jacob.

Arlyn passed away July 28, 2019, at 2:30 a.m. in St. George, Utah. Arlyn died after a year long battle with cancer. He passed peacefully holding the hand of his loving wife Susan.

Arlyn was raised by faithful loving parents in Bakersfield and the Bay Area of California. In his teen years he was an avid backpacker and loved the outdoors. He graduated from Foothill High and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Chico Sate in Computer Science. After college, Arlyn’s career path centered around computer programming. He worked for Boeing, CSC, Intel, and San Luis Obispo County. Arlyn loved 60’s rock, classical music, and church hymns. He loved math, reading, photography, and baking, especially pies.

Arlyn was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was baptized February 28, 1981. On March 20, 1982, he married Susan Strebel in Sacramento, California, and helped raise Jodi and Jared. Their son Sean was born June 11, 1983. Their family was sealed together for time and all eternity January 4, 1990, in the Portland, Oregon Temple.

Services for Arlyn will be held August 5, 2019, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2610 Sierra Meadows Drive, Rocklin, California. A public viewing will be held at 9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel followed by a luncheon. The interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Camellia Memorial Lawn, 10221 Jackson Road, Sacramento, California.  PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (916-725-2109), directors.
