Holden, a native of Palo Alto, CA and current resident of Orangevale, CA passed away with family by his side at the age of 79. He was loving husband to the late Launna C. Brink, father to Chris (Jeanne) Brink and Sheralynn (Forrest) Johnson, and grandfather to Julia, Connor, Forrest, and Kayla. Holden received his PhD for Wildlife Management in 1968 at Utah State and had a fulfilling and long career with BLM. The highlight was as preserve manager at the Cosumnes River Preserve. He was an avid fisherman and bird hunter who always had a dog by his side. His favorite place in the world was his family cabin in South Lake Tahoe. His passion for life, outlandish character, and genuine love for his family and friends will be forever missed.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, donations may be made in his honor to either Ducks Unlimited or the Nature Conservancy, both vital partners of the Cosumnes River Preserve.
Per his wishes, no formal services will be held. His final resting place will be with his wife at Riverview Cemetery in Tremonton, UT.
