I could not stay another day, To love, to laugh, to work or play; Tasks left undone must stay that way. And if my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy.

John,
Deepest condolences and a hug to you and your daughter. Cheryl was fortunate to have such a loving and supportive family, it speaks volumes of who she was. I did not have the opportunity to get to know her, personally, but it is obvious you had a loving and devoted marriage. May your wonderful memories carry you through this dark time and bring smiles when you remember and need them the most...
With Sympathy,
Christina

There are no words to express the love I had for Cheryl. The good times we had in Wrightwood, once when we were upstairs sleeping in the massive bedroom, we heard a knock but we, Cheryl and I were not sure where it was coming from, we slowly went downstairs, and we heard the knock again only to find John had locked himself outside, and was getting quite angry because we didn't open the door. The great times we had at Lake Almanor, when Robin bought Miracle Whip, and we thought we were going to die and went to the store to buy Best Foods mayonnaise. When we cooked the fish that tasted like chicken but best of all the Red Dirt.
I loved that she tried to do a smack down when the 49ers were playing the Seattle Seahawks for the Superbowl berth. GO HAWKS!
I loved Cheryl Spitler, always have, always will, and I will miss her oh so very much.

I remember a ways back when John and Cheryl were still attending CSULB and found out that Cheryl loved to swim. Myself, who also loved to swim, did both swimming and water-polo in high school. So John signed me up, Rick his brother, as himself, I got to swim with Cheryl and we had a blast. I wonder if he ever got units for it. Now I will share a prayer instead of a pool.

Cheryl and I are first cousins and we always lived within a mile or so from each other throughout our childhood. Our fathers were best friends and they rarely missed a day seeing each other.

I have many fond memories of Cheryl. She was always so kind and sweet and I never heard a negative word from her. I was in awe of her competitive swimming and her tanned physique that came naturally with it. Then came music. We were treated to many private sessions listening to her play the piano and singing in her sweet angelic voice. She sang at family weddings and funerals. Cheryl had the rare ability to touch deep into your heart and soul.

What really bonded Cheryl and I was our mutual love of horses. We were blessed to have owned two beautiful horses thanks to our grandparents and the ranch they purchased. I was extremely touched when I heard that her husband John had arranged for a "Pony Express" mail delivery to their home. You could see how much this meant to Cheryl as she got to spend time with the horse.
Her face was lit up like a child on Christmas morning. This will be the image that I will remember and treasure of my cousin.

Enjoy the peace and good health in heaven Cheryl. And sing with the angels!

My heartfelt sympathy, love and prayers are with her entire family.

My deepest condolences to John and Amanda. She loved you both so much! Her voice will be singing in Frank's choir along with a few of our other University Choir members; but I shall always miss her -- the times we spent chatting, laughing and talking about the wonderful times we shared in life. She will forever be in my heart and will be in God's hands surrounded by His love. Your faithfulness will be rewarded, my friend. Be at peace.

Will always remember Cheryl's smile, laughter, and sense of humor. Similar to yours, John :) She had tremendous faith in Christ Jesus. While we mourn her loss here incarnate on earth, we also rejoice in her life-eternal especially when we may join her in Christ's church triumphant. What love, joy, and peace! Can you imagine? With Love, Dana.

Dearest John and Amanda,
It breaks my heart to think that your wife and mama is no longer with you (and us) here on earth. I know it will not be the same for either of you without her. But, what joy it will be for you when you are reunited with her in Heaven someday. My family and I offer our condolences and prayers to you both.

I met Cheryl when I was 18 - we sat next to each other from our very first day of University Choir (and throughout our many years making music together). We were both very serious while singing, but silly and giggling as soon as we stepped into the courtyard. What adventures we all had, growing up together in choir. I will miss her bright smile and spiritual soul, her sweet voice and positive demeanor. Rest well, dear one. Keep those angel voices in the heavenly choir in line.

Wish we could have talked one more time, but we will again. Until later, take care and keep an eye on al of us. We'll be looking up a fair bit too.
