On Friday, the 19th day of July 2019, Colleen Hill Fink, quietly slipped from this world, surrounded by four of her six sons. Colleen was a kind and gentle person, always willing to give of herself and her time to help her family and friends, thou she could also be fierce in their defense. Born on March 6, 1927, Colleen was part of the Great Generation. She was the oldest of three children. Athletic and strong, Colleen excelled in sports. She particularly loved to swim and for a time she was a member of the water ballet team. In 1948, she married her eternal companion, Robert E. Fink. Together they eventually settled in Redding, California. They had six tall and athletic boys, though Colleen never realized her hope of having a daughter.
Her kind and giving nature led her to the medical field, where she worked as a lab technician and then a nurse for many years. She often worked many hours and returned home to work many more hours for her family.
Colleen's dedication to her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, had a powerful influence upon her children. Through her persistence all of her family was sealed for all eternity in the temple.
She leaves behind 5 sons and their wives, nineteen grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. Before her illness, she always remembered everyone's birthday and gave us something that was often made by her own hands. Dear Colleen, mom, grandmother, and friend, we love and miss you and look forward to meeting you again.
Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral service on Monday, July 29, 2019 at 10AM, with a viewing commencing at 9AM, all at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (4075 Riverside Avenue, Anderson, CA). Interment following at Millville Cemetery. PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (916-725-2109), directors.
