Of Roseville, California, passed away peacefully at home on February 2, 2019. Dennis and his wife Arleen were long time parishioners at St. Mel Catholic Church in Fair Oaks. Dennis was a Catholic convert who thoroughly embraced his faith. Family was very important to him. He was active in Knights of Columbus as past Grand Knight and Financial Secretary. He was a church usher and a Boy Scout leader at St. Mel’s. He also was a member of the Men’s Cursillo, former St. Mel’s Family Group member and a parent volunteer at St. Mel’s School. He was a trustee for the Fr. Doheny Religious Education Fund. Dennis was a longtime platelet and plasma donor at Vitalent (formerly BloodSource), achieving the level of 600 Centennial donor. He was a Realtor for 15 years and loved helping people find their dream home
Despite being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 5 years ago, Dennis lived a full and active life. He especially enjoyed puttering in his backyard and traveling.Survived by his wife of 40 years, Arleen; daughter, Katy Lowes and son-in-law, Rob (Redding); son, Daniel (San Francisco); Dennis’s sister, Melody Higgs (Deltona, FL); and his grandchildren, Kamryn and Jarrett.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 6:00-7:00PM with a Rosary service at 7PM and are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 10:00AM all at ST. MEL CATHOLIC CHURCH (4745 Pennsylvania Ave, Fair Oaks).
