Of Carmichael, CA, passed away at the age of 87, November 9, 2017, after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.  Our “Fix it Dad” was well known and loved by countless family and friends for his wide range of knowledge in numerous areas including financial, automotive and mechanical engineering just to name a few.  He was always willing to share advice and guide those he loved in whatever help they needed.  He could be found tinkering in the garage while visiting with passing neighbors.  He made it into the hearts of everyone he touched.  He served in the Air Force and had a 36-year dedicated career as a Field Engineer with IBM.  A native of Parsons, KS, cherished father of Gail Nelson, Jeff (Susan) Volmer, Nancy Lorenzen, James Volmer, and Angela (Jon) Bauer.  Loving grandfather of 8 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.  Is survived by his siblings Eddie Lee Volmer and Marcena Volmer.  Was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ida Volmer, his parents Edward and Gladys Volmer and his siblings Lenore Fager, Mary Jo Sevart, Eileen McAtee and  Ida Ruth Fager.  Friends and family are welcome for visitation on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 4-6PM, with the Recitation of the Rosary at 5PM, all at PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, 725-2109).  Friends and family are also invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at ST. MEL CATHOLIC CHURCH (4745 Pennsylvania Ave, Fair Oaks, CA) on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 10AM.  Interment at Fair Oaks District Cemetery.
