Frank Seabourne Obituary

Frank Seabourne passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 18, 2018 after an unexpected but mercifully short bout with cancer.  He had just spent the day reminiscing with his family about his wonderful and fruitful life.

Frank’s humble origin began in 1934 in Leadwood, Missouri, a small lead mining town in southeastern Missouri. After graduating from high school, the self-proclaimed “hoodlum”, joined the U.S. Navy in 1952.  Frank spent the final 18 months of his naval career at the Naval Air Station in Hutchinson where he met the love of his life, nursing student, Marlene Tiemann, a beautiful farm girl from Lincoln, Kansas.

Frank’s first job out of the Navy was with Lockheed Aircraft in Marietta, GA where they celebrated the births of their children, Steven and Patrice. In 1959 the young family moved to Citrus Heights, CA where Frank worked as a technician for the Rancho Cordova rocket maker, Aerojet.

In 1967 Frank joined an alternator and starter rebuilding company called B & J Auto Electric.  Frank eventually bought out the two original partners, renamed the company AIM (Automotive Importing Mfg., Inc.) and moved the company to Rancho Cordova with his wife, Marlene, doing the accounting.

Although he steadfastly credited the success of AIM to the employees, Frank’s relentless work ethic and street smarts served him well as the company grew and prospered.  AIM’s work force grew to well over 300 people with employees often recruited from the local high school, Casa Roble.

During his semi-retirement years, Frank was a member of the North Ridge Country Club where his skills at golf were lacking, but the friends he enjoyed and good times were beyond measure.  His good-naturedness and non-stop sense of humor were always on display.  A Special thanks to the staff at NRCC and Frank’s dear friend and WWII hero, Jim Grey.  Frank also enjoyed fishing.  For 52 years, the family went to Clear Lake for their annual fishing trip to catch bass, catfish and crappie.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents Arthur Seabourne and Beatrice (Seabourne) Taylor; brother, Charles Seabourne. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marlene; sister, Kathy (Jim) Brigance; son, Steven (Julie) Seabourne; daughter, Patrice (Dan) Pilon; grand children, Joseph and Brian Carle, Sarah, Emily, Curtis and Jacob Seabourne, great-grand children; Emma, Lillie, Quinn, Dean and Rebecca Carle; sister-in-law, Linda Seabourne; Aunt Lois, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will begin at 10:00AM, February 3, 2018 at Price Funeral Chapel, 6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, CA 95610. Viewing will proceed at 9:00AM, one hour before the service.  A Celebration of Life luncheon will be hosted immediately following the memorial service at North Ridge Country Club, 7600 Madison Ave., Fair Oaks, CA 95628 (corner of Mariposa and Madison).
