Gerard Nathan (Jerry) Follettie, 79, of Roseville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.  Jerry was born June 30, 1938, at Enloe Hospital, in Chico California, a son of the late Lorain Rosalie and Joseph Follettie.  Jerry was a caring and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He served in the US Air Force where he worked as an in-air refueler and pilot.  After being honorably discharged, he became a police officer with the Albuquerque police department, working later with the California Highway Patrol in Redwood City and transferring later to Modesto serving as a CHP Officer.  After retiring from the CHP, Jerry became a business owner dealing in jewelry. His store was named the Blue Pig, affectionately named after the stigma assigned to law enforcement. The front door of the business had a picture of a pig in a police uniform with a rocking chair. This was Jerry’s sense of humor at its finest.  Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family.  He was an animal lover who enjoyed spoiling his dog, Lizzy.  He loved to hunt, fish and work on guns.  He enjoyed watching football but only when the 49ers were winning.  Jerry was a strong independent man and a rock to family and friends always giving good advice.  He would tell us not to worry about things saying, “things will work out the way they’re supposed to.” He will always be remembered and greatly missed by family and all those he touched in his life.  Loving father of Kimberly (Daniel) Phipps, Cindy Lehr, Gary (Kimberly) Follettie, Joe Follettie, Gregory Boyd, and Sandra (Mark) Herbert.  Cherished grandfather of Nicole, Ashley, Bradley, Patrick, Ryan, David, Mathew, and Sara, and nine great-grandchildren.  Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday, February 2, 2018, at 10 AM at PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, 725-2109).  Interment will follow at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery where Military honors will be accorded.
