Gertie Gray Duncan was born Feb. 3, 1928 in Wayne Co, NC to Claudie & Hannah Gray. She celebrated her homecoming to be with the Lord & her beloved husband Jack on Sept. 29, 2017 at her home of 61 years in Orangevale, CA. Gertie was the last of 8 siblings, & survived by her 4 children: Linda Pruitt (Cory), Velma Schaufel, Christie Nunez (Edward), & Dee Duncan (Jodie). She was loved & admired by her 14 grandchildren & numerous great-grandchildren. She had a long career working for SJUSD as a special education bus driver until her retirement in 1987. Gertie loved to cook, host family dinners, gardening, & spending time with her grandchildren. She had an incredible sense of humor & shared the love of Jesus with everyone she knew. She loved the Lord & was very devoted & active in her church. As the family matriarch, she will be greatly missed by her many family & friends. Viewing will be held at Oak Ave Church Oct. 5 from 6-8PM. Celebration of Life will be at Oak Ave Church in Orangevale on Oct. 6, 2017 at 10AM.
