Born January 28th, 1974 passed Sept. 28th 2018 (Age 44)
The Halls of Valhalla will Bellow with Thunderous Joy as this Great Viking Joins the Celebration. Known for his passion, loyalty, and strong moral compass; his eccentric, fun-loving and vivacious personality, touched and was loved by anyone he ever met.
Born in Nebraska, Jared's early years were spent in Northern California outside of Sacramento in the Citrus Heights, Carmichael, Fair Oaks area. However; he always considered the Pacific North West his home. Through High School and early adulthood Jared lived in the tiny ski resort town of Maple Falls just a few miles south of the Canadian border in remote western Washington State near Bellingham where he worked in construction when the weather permitted and fine tuned the skills of his true calling as a Master of the Culinary Arts. He also worked as a field technician for a High Speed Internet company and lived in Reno, Nevada for a couple of years where he worked for a production company. Everywhere he went Jared cultivated strong, bonding friendships that lasted a lifetime and beyond.
Two near fatal accidents, one when he was 18 and the other at 32; severely damaged his legs. You couldn't tell by his positive upbeat demeanor but you could see it in his face. Jared endured an immense amount of physical pain as he soldiered through life; despite this, he manged to enrich all the lives around him. He is now free of that pain, his spirit soars with the loved ones who passed before; yet his memory and the impression he made on the living will last an eternity.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather whom he was very close with Dr. Gildas Eugene Metour who passed in 2000, and his father Dr. Thomas Granville Metour who recently passed in 2016. He is survived by his daughter Shelby Kinney, mother Deborah Metour, three older siblings Sven Metour, David Metour, and Heidi Metour, and younger sister Christine Metour. Five nieces and nephews...Katrina Ellis, Sebastian Dell, Phoenix Metour, Thomas Silva, and Sally Jean Metour, grand niece an nephew twins Ayla and Robert Cusimano, his Aunts Ginny and Heather, cousins Kimberly, Karri, Addison and Chancellor, and second cousins Ty, Clay, Shaun, and Haylee.
