John D. Witmer passed away on November 19, 2017 at home in Fair Oaks at the age of 90. He was born in Nebraska, the youngest of 3 children. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Mary Jane and Bill. He leaves behind his wife of 64 years Winifred (Winnie), sons Jon and Jeff, daughter-in-law Fran, and was the proud "Gampy" of three grand-daughters Rose, Maggie and Francesca.With the move to CA in 1955, John went to work for Pacific Telephone. He retired as a maintenance cable splicer in 1978 due to health issues. John was a avid fisherman, passing that love to his sons. He enjoyed golf, hitting 3 hole in one at local courses, but was the first to say "more luck than skill". He was also an accomplished fabricator of many types of stained glass pieces and known for his "Mr. Fix it" abilities. They enjoyed many years of travel in their RV with family reunions in Arizona and Nebraska, exploring our National Parks, and fun trips with family and friends. Private services will be held at a later date.
