Katie was born in Vancouver, Washington. She was an enrolled member of the Yurok Tribe. Her parents were Christie Jones and George Espinoza. Her brother Nicolas Jones of Portland, Oregon survives her. Besides her parents and brother, Katie lived with her Uncle Sam and Audrey Jones, later she moved in with Isabel Johnson, Jesse Martinez and Sonia Johnson. She attended elementary, middle and high school in San Juan Unified School District. She graduated from La Vista High School.
Katie was a beautiful child and young adult. As a child she loved eating large amounts of food. As a teen she loved to read, mainly Steven King Novels. As an adult she loved to gamble at casinos and on the lottery. Katie was not impressed with clothes or jewelry or other material things.
She was born with three strikes against her, but she was as bright as any child in any school.
Katie lived in the moment, no future goals were important to her. She just wanted to be happy, to have friends, which was difficult due her three strikes. Her life was not what others wanted for her, but it was the choices she had available to her. Katie always did things her way. How many of us can say that? The services will be held on Tuesday August 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, CA).
