Lorna passed away peacefully on December 25, 2017, at the age of 71.  Lorna was originally from Cebu, Philippines.  From a very early age, Lorna knew she wanted to be a doctor.  Her dedication to fulfilling that dream, allowed her to graduate at the top of her class.  She received an opportunity to continue her career in the United States, doing her post-graduate residency and fellowship in Cardiology at Harvard University.  Before leaving for Cambridge, she met Gus Montesclaros and together they began a new life in America.  Soon after, was the birth of their son, Marco.  Lorna and her family lived in Massachusetts and Aptos, CA before eventually settling in the Sacramento region.  She worked for some of the major healthcare groups in the area, and built a reputation for compassionate and empathetic care.  But it wasn’t all work for Lorna.  For those of us, lucky enough to know her, she had the most giving heart and selfless spirit.  She started Operation Share International (OSI) with the intention of bringing high level, surgically centered healthcare to people in need within the Philippine islands.  Besides philanthropy, Lorna loved the natural world and all the animals in it; she was never without a dog.  Her recreational activities included skiing, scuba diving and she received a purple belt in Karate.  Lorna was full of life and an intellectual; she enjoyed good food, art, music and movies of all kinds.  She is survived by her husband Gus Montesclaros, her son Marco Montesclaros, her Brothers, Bernardo (Rose) Adolfo, Rufino (Silvestra) Adolfo and her sister, Myrna Adolfo.  A memorial service will be held on January 18, 10:30 at St. Joseph Marello Catholic Church, 7200 Auburn-Folsom Rd, Granite Bay CA 95746.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Joseph Marello Catholic Church, see https://stjosephmarello.org or the Batang Pinangga Foundation, see http://batangpinangga.org
