Robert Nicholas Zine

Robert Nicholas Zine, was born in Sacramento, CA on June 28, 1941 to Nicholas and Sadie Zine and lived most of his life in Elverta, CA.  He graduated from Highlands High School in 1959, and then went on to earn his AA Degree in Heavy Equipment Repair from American River College.  In May of 1963, he married Bonnie. The couple had two daughters, Kathy and Gail, two grandchildren, Candace and Stephanie, and two great grandchildren, Jaydynn and Asher. 

Robert started his career at Weaver Tractor where he worked for two years. He then moved on to Tenco Tractor, where he worked for 20 years.  He finished his career with RC Collet, retiring as a Master Mechanic.  In addition, he also volunteered as a firefighter with the Elverta Fire Department for 28+ years.

As a child he and his family spent many summers in Williston, North Dakota on the family farm.  After retirement, twice yearly he traveled back to the farm to help his cousin Dan with planting, harvesting and repairing farm equipment.

Some of his favorite activities included jeeping, camping, coaching softball for his girls, watching sprint car racing, golfing and traveling.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie, daughter Kathy, son-in-law Rick, daughter Gail, son-in-law Noland, grandchildren Candace and Stephanie, great grandchildren Jaydynn and Asher, sister Judy, brother-in-law David, sister-in-law Becky, nephews Jason and Stuart and many cousins.

Robert passed away September 2nd, 2019 and is preceded in death by his father Nicholas and mother Sadie Zine.

Donations may be given to The American Heart Association.

Services will be held Friday October 4th, 2019 10:30am at Saint Claire Catholic Church 1950 Junction Blvd. Roseville, CA 95747.  Reception luncheon to follow at the Morris Center located next to the church.
