Adolfo "Addy" Rabasto

Adolfo "Addy" Rabasto passed away on November 5, 2025, in Carmichael, California, at the age of 78, from complications following a stroke he suffered in May 2024. He lived a life devoted to service, faith, and family, leaving behind a legacy of love and healing that will be deeply cherished. 

Born on May 26, 1947, in Maripipi, Leyte, Philippines, to Santos and Adelfa Rabasto, Adolfo devoted his life to serving others - both in medicine and in faith. 

Affectionately known as “Doc Boy” in his hometown of Maripipi, he served as Chief of Hospital there for over 15 years. During that time, he helped organize and improve hospital operations so it could better serve the people of the island, including introducing its first ambulance services. His compassion, steady leadership, and dedication left a lasting legacy of health and hope for the community he loved.

Adolfo later continued his medical career with the Ministry of Health in the Bahamas, serving as a physician on several islands including Long Island, Andros, Eleuthera, and Exuma. In Nassau, he worked at Princess Margaret Hospital, where he spent most of his time in the Emergency Room and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and also served in several local clinics across the island. On the family islands, he became not only a trusted doctor but also a beloved member of the community—often one of only two physicians available to serve an entire island’s needs.

While in the Bahamas, he became the first member of the Rabasto family to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His deep faith guided his life and service. He served for many years in the branch presidency of the Soldier Road Branch on New Providence, and in 1996, he and his wife, Elizabeth, were sealed to their children in the Orlando Florida Temple. During their years in Exuma, where his family were the only members of the Church, he faithfully held sacrament meetings in their home each week with their children—a quiet but powerful testament to his devotion and leadership.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth, and their six children: Rinna (Kevin) Harris, Anna (Tony) Dickerson, Archie (Jessica) Rabasto, Abigail (Jake) Gardner, Aireen (Danny) Finnerty, and Andrea (Kulia) Pickard; and 18 cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Elizabeth (Tom) Rabasto-Jones and Cecilio “Butch” (Connie) Rabasto. He is preceded in death by his parents, Santos and Adelfa Rabasto, and his siblings Emma and twin brother Santos Jr.

Adolfo will be remembered for his playful humor, his kind and forgiving heart, and his unwavering faith. As a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and compassionate physician, he touched countless lives with his service and joy. His legacy of faith, laughter, and healing will continue to bless generations to come.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Price Funeral Chapel in Sacramento, California. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in Gilbert, Arizona.
