Amelia Huezo Carranza Obituary

Amelia Huezo Carranza, lovingly known as “Mamá,” passed away on February 3, 2026, in Roseville, California, at the age of 74.

Amelia was born on August 21, 1951, in Caurio de Guadalupe, Michoacán, Mexico, to Guadalupe Carranza Valencia and Fidel Carranza Morales. She later made her home in California, where she devoted much of her life to caring for others — first as a nurse’s aide in her early years, and then as a homemaker for over three decades.

At the center of Amelia’s life was her family. She was known for going above and beyond to support her sisters and extended family during times of need, offering steady strength when it mattered most. Throughout her life, she stood beside her children and wanted the very best for them.

Amelia carried herself with natural elegance and poise. She appreciated beautiful things, loved shopping for clothing and home goods, and had a special fondness for antiques. Those who knew her often remarked on her beauty and her strength. She was opinionated, spoke her mind freely, and remained unapologetically herself — qualities that defined her presence and left a lasting impression on everyone around her. In her later years, caregivers frequently commented on what a sweet lady she was.

A woman of Catholic faith, Amelia lived with quiet resilience and deep devotion to those she loved.

She is survived by her children, Guadalupe Huezo, Manuel Huezo, Dorian Huezo, and Anabel Deters; her grandchildren, Jaime Angel, Natalia, Angelika, Alessandra, and Maddix; and her siblings, Maria Elena, Raul, Bertha, Victoria, Elda, Ana, Susana, Martha, Lourdes, Ignacia, and Sergio.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Manuel Huezo Espinoza; her siblings Sergio and Luis; and her parents.

Her children share that the world feels different now that she is gone — as though even the colors of everyday life have changed. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her strength, presence, and enduring love remain woven into the lives of those she raised and cared for.
