Barbara Jean Mitchell, lovingly known as Bobbie, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, at the age of 76. A longtime resident of Fair Oaks, California, Bobbie lived a life of grace, resilience, and devotion.
She was born on December 6, 1948, to Neill and Juanita Watkins, who preceded her in death. A proud member of the first graduating class of Del Campo High School in 1966, Bobbie went on to pursue higher education, earning her degree from Sacramento State University and later achieving her Juris Doctor from McGeorge School of Law in 1994. Her determination and intellect were evident as she successfully passed the bar and embarked on her legal career.
Faith was a cornerstone of Bobbie’s life. In her later years, she found a spiritual home at Faith Lutheran Church, where she was warmly embraced by a community that became like family. Her faith brought her great comfort and joy, and she cherished the friendships she formed there.
Bobbie had a zest for life and a creative spirit. She expressed her passions through cooking, music, writing, and fashion, leaving a legacy of love and beauty in everything she touched.
Bobbie’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She was a devoted Mother to Jeff and Jennifer, Loving Grandma to Elle, Jeffrey, Grace, Jackson, Samuel, Ryan, and Ella, as well as beloved sister to Jan Hart and Leanne Johnson.
Bobbie’s warmth, wisdom, and unwavering faith in God will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
A celebration of Bobbie’s life will take place on Friday,January 24th at 1:00 pm at Fair Oaks Cemetery, 7780 Olive Street.
