Brent Roberts Albano Obituary

Brent Albano, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 13, 2026, at the age of 92. He was born on November 29, 1933, in Dillon, Montana, to Howard and June Albano. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rosemarie, siblings Howard, Pat and Lloyd, and is survived by his siblings Marcia, Clinton, and Gwen, children Diana, Tony and John, daughters in law Cristine and Valerie, 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Brent spent his early childhood in Emmett, Idaho, where his father worked in a lumber mill and his mother was a teacher. He and his brothers learned to swim in the nearby Payette River, beginning a lifelong love of the outdoors and adventure. When Brent was 13, the family moved to a farmhouse near Weiser, Idaho, where the children helped with daily farm chores, including milking cows and thinning beets. Brent attended Sunnyside School, a small country school that is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

His mother, June, instilled in her children a deep appreciation for education and reading. Their home was always filled with books, magazines, and newspapers, and one of Brent’s favorites was a set of encyclopedias called The Book of Knowledge. During these years, Brent and his brother Pat became passionate baseball players and even built a full-size baseball field near their home where neighborhood kids gathered to play.

After graduating from high school, Brent attended the University of Idaho, earning a bachelor’s degree in business in 1956. He worked in the women’s dining hall to help pay for school and became known for his independence and strong work ethic. He also developed a lifelong passion for golf, often arranging his class schedule around time on the course.

Following college, Brent briefly worked in San Francisco before serving in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959 as a Specialist IV stationed in West Germany during the Cold War. While serving along the Rhine River, he used his Morse code training as part of a larger European defense operation. During this time, he met Rosemarie Klock at a dance, and the two quickly fell in love. Before leaving Germany together, Brent made a heartfelt promise to Rosemarie’s mother that he would always care for and support Rose in America — a promise he faithfully kept throughout their marriage of 64 years. After purchasing a red MG convertible, Brent and Rosemarie were married in 1959 and traveled throughout Europe together, creating memories that would remain special throughout their lives. While overseas, Brent also studied oil painting and became a talented artist known for his landscapes and water scenes.

Brent and Rosemarie settled in California after brief stays in Alameda and Bountiful, Utah. Eventually, they made their home in Fair Oaks, where they raised their three children: Diana, Tony, and John. During the 1970s and 1980s, the family enjoyed many road trips to Idaho and throughout the Pacific Northwest.

In 1977, Brent took a major professional leap by becoming self-employed as an independent insurance agent. After purchasing an existing book of business and joining established partners, the firm became Albano Dale Dunn & Lewis Insurance, where Brent built a successful and respected career. He was also an active member of the Orangevale Rotary Club, where he fulfilled several leadership roles.

During this time, Brent joined Northridge Country Club to meet people and grow his business, but it soon became much more than that. For more than 45 years, Northridge became his second home — a place where he golfed, socialized, and formed lifelong friendships with families such as the Stathems, Feenstras, Freies, and many others. Brent was everyone’s friend on the golf course, and the club became an important part of his identity and lifelong love of golf.

Brent remained active and adventurous throughout his life. At the age of 66, he proudly climbed to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park with Tony and John, a challenge that reflected his determination and love of the outdoors.

In his later years, Brent remained closely connected to his family, often traveling with Rosemarie to visit John in Merced and making additional trips to Idaho and Utah. He especially enjoyed family dinners at Tony’s home, watching sports, following politics and current events, and spending quiet time relaxing at home.

A memorial service honoring Brent’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Fair Oaks Cemetery.
