Charles Michael Zurek Jr.

Charles  “Chuck” M. Zurek Jr, a beloved Husband, father, grandfather and great-
grandfather, passed away on April 21,2024 in Sacramento, CA at the age of 79. 
He was born on August 25, 1944 in Portchester, New York to Charles M Zurek Sr. and
Mary Ann Zurek.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife Opal Zurek of 50 years and his children Melynda
Zurek, Chase Zurek, Jack Zurek, Cassandra Zurek Gianino, his brother, Thomas &
Sandy Zurek. As well he was a doting Papa to his seven grandchildren, Brandon,
Courtney, Michael, Annie Leigh, Taylor, Nick and Jacklyn) eight great grandchildren.

Chuck was known for his entrepreneurial spirt and fierce dedication to hardworking.
Chuck began his career with Associated Host of California for over 10 years. He left
 AHC  position to become an entrepreneur and business owner of a bar and  liquor
establishment in Albuquerque NM. He then transitioned into the insurance industry
working along side American Fidelity Insurance.  Chuck later opened his own insurance
brokerage company after moving his family to California. Before retirement for
Seventeen years  Chuck and Opal  owned Capital City Limousine Service in
Sacramento, CA.

Many may not know  this but Chuck was a ‘Pro-am quality’ golfer and cherished every
moment on the golf course. His love of the game brought him great joy throughout his
life. Chuck will be remembered for being a devoted husband to Opal for over  50 years the
true love of his life. His family meant everything to him and he delighted in having them
at the center of everything he and Opal did. 

Service:
May 10th at Price Funeral Home starting at 1:00 PM  with lunch to follow at Northridge
Country Club
