Clifton "Skip" Nessmith II Obituary

Born on May 14th 1984, at Mercy San Juan in Carmichael, Ca. Passed from this world to start an epic side quest on Nov. 11th. 2025.

Born to Clifton NesSmith and Lynne Denise Gilley. He had a huge family. He had 5 sisters, Talina Cruz of Rio Linda, CA, Dorothy Valverde (Nazario) of Sacramento, CA, Jessica Martin (Michael) of Visalia, CA, Judith Green (Dan) of New Mexico and little sister Christina van den Dungen Bille (Justin) of North Highlands, CA. A few brothers of choice, Eric Roberts of Green Valley, CA., Kenneth Phelps of Sacramento, CA.,  Nickolaus Mccammant of Sacramento, CA. and Josh Estrada of Sacramento, CA. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He first married Ashley Richmond in 2006. They would have 2 sons, Clifton Lee NesSmith III (C3) in April 2006 and Johnny Henry NesSmith in June 2009. They would later divorce and he would meet and start dating his second wife on Dec. 18th, 2013. They would later marry in Las Vegas on an adult only trip with the thought of hey why not get married while we're there kind of whim. On June 27th, 2018 he was married to his surviving wife Heather Murray. He was thrilled to plan the wedding in his favorite colors, Purple, Black, Green, White and Silver. He was equally thrilled when the wife said yes to the pizza party for the reception. They would have 2 children together also, a son Alexander Ellis NesSmith-Murray in Sept. 2015 and his precious only daughter Sophia Rose Arlene NesSmith in Oct. 2018.

He was active in the LARP (Live Action Role Player) community where he would attend games (when he could). OWbN (One World by Night): Sacramento by Night, Stockton by Night, Lux Tenebras, Always Comes Evening, just to mention a few groups he was involved with. All are live action role-playing games using White Wolf Publishing's Vampire: the Masquerade as a setting. He would play with many longtime friends. He also attended a werewolf themed game called Gaia's Call which dissolved in 2020 which was similar to Vampire.

He was also an avid gamer, his collection spanned a wide variety of games, from tabletop to online. From dice and paper to handheld consoles. His current favorite was a cell phone game called Capybara Go, he always had his phone with him.

He loved Pokemon (Gengar and Umbreon), played many of the games through out the years and the TCG game, he loved Star Wars, between the online games to going to Disneyland to make a custom droid and lightsaber in 2024. He loved Harry Potter and the Butterbeer from Universal Studios and was in House Slytherin and was telling Heather how they needed to get a Harry Potter store here for Butterbeer or to go back to NYC to see the play again with Tom Felton as Malfoy. He also adored Magic the Gathering, he has a vast collection of the cards. He was also an avid fan of anime, his latest favorites were Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill, A Gatherer's Adventure in Isekai, Solo Leveling etc. the list goes forever.

For online games it was a toss up for Fallout and Cyberpunk on his Steamdeck that he got in Sept. He also played a few online games like World of Warcraft with his wife and their online friends and met amazing people over the years like Kevin Glass of TX. In July 2023 he would go on a family trip to NYC and meet some of their online friends in NYC which he was excited to cross off his bucket list, where they would also meet their WOW guild leader, Ephraim Friedman of NYC (they loved trolling each other, the latest joke was about pesos). This year he went back to Hawaii, saw family he hadn't seen in years. Got to see the beach one last time, he got to swim with manta rays and even got a manta ray tattoo as a gift from his wife Heather, for their 7th wedding anniversary.

He loved his electronics, always wanting the new tech. His favorite place was at his PC that he hand built and hes built many including many for himself, for his wife and for friends. He was our tech savvy man. He would joke about being a dice goblin, along with his daughter who loves dice too. Lover of anything retro, 80s music, celtic, Enya, the list is long, it depended on his mood. His favorite movies ranged from Willow to Dune, Lord of the Rings to Forest Gump. He was always making new playlists. He was listening to the Life and Death of Bree from the Twilight series.

He also discovered his love about grilling and smoking meats. He adored his Traeger smoker that he got for Father's Day this year. He smoked a turkey the sunday before his passing. He loved how it turned out.   His wife and kids will miss his cooking and all of his experiments. He loved cooking.

He is going to be missed. By his wife, by his children, by his parents, by his sisters and family. He will be missed and this world without him is so much darker. It's weird imagining a world without him.

He is survived by his wife Heather, his children Clifton, Johnny, Alex and Sophia. His parents Clif & Lynne NesSmith. His sisters, many nieces and nephews. Many aunts and uncles too. By many friends. He's survived by his goodest of good boys, Bear. Plus many cats, his favorite Willow and Custard.

Preceded in death both sets grandparents, many aunts and uncles on both sides, his little nephew Daniel Jeremiah Gilley. His little buddy, a tiny chihuahua mix named Peanut.
