Clyde Wesley Steed

Clyde Steed died peacefully on June 15, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Marion, his daughter Regina (Patrick), his sons Austin (Sandie) and Wesley (Jeannette), and his daughter Evelyn (Michael). He has 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Clyde was born in 1941 in Culver City, California. He spent his childhood on a sugar beet farm in Corinne, Utah, and his youth back in Southern California. In 1961-63 he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mexico City, Mexico. Later, he married Marion Crane in 1967, whom he met at Brigham Young University.

He lived in Holland, Massachusetts for 10 years where he worked as a radio DJ and at a small electronics repair shop. He then moved to Rancho Cordova, California where he taught electronics, mathematics, physics, and Spanish for Westland College, then Heald College.

Clyde loved a wide variety of music and had various methods of listening to it, spanning from reel to reel to the computer. He shared this love of music with his children and those around him.

Clyde’s love of old movies was passed on to his children by spending many years watching them together.

Also shared with his family was his love of trains. From playing with train sets to visiting train museums to riding the train, Clyde shared this pastime with his family throughout his life.

He also loved traveling and visited Mexico a few times with Marion to see old friends. He and Marion often went to the ocean and he also loved visiting Disneyland with his family.

Clyde spent many years in service for his church, where he served most often as a ward clerk or secretary, helping out behind the scenes.

Everyone who knew him will remember his reserve and deadpan humor and the joy he brought into their lives.
