Daniel Lee Scott passed away peacefully on August 6 surrounded by family and his longtime partner, Pam. Born to Mary and Lee Scott on July 7, 1955, Dan lived the majority of his life in Fair Oaks and was an active member of the community. In his early years, he worked with the Conservation Corps as a firefighter and surveyor. During his time in the Conservation Corps, he became a volunteer for them Yountville Veteran’s Home, which turned into a lifelong passion. He also was the proud owner of a local landscaping service. He then embarked on the management of their family property, together with his sister, Kim. Throughout his 68 years, Dan thoroughly enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors. Dan was a passionate artist and enjoyed creating pen and ink drawings of the beautiful landscapes that he witnessed, some of which have been featured at the Fair Oaks Artworks Gallery. In his later years, he became a certified massage therapist and avid volunteer in the community. Throughout the years, Dan could often be seen practicing his bagpipes dressed in his Scottish regailia in Fair Oaks Park. Dan was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary Louise and Lee Roy Scott. He is survived by his sister, Kim Scott, brother-in-law Craig Maclaine, daughter Rachel Scott, son and daughter-in-law Douglas and Kelsey Scott, their children Chloe, Thomas, Taylor, Alexa, and Lee Scott, and his long-time partner Pam Scott. Dan will forever be remembered as a quirky and caring brother, father, grandfather, and partner.
His family is thankful for the time that they spent with him and even more thankful that he has been released from his earthly worries and burdens.
Funeral services will be held at Price Funeral Chapel in Citrus Heights on Friday August 25, 2023 at 10:00am. All are welcome to attend. Following the service, an inurnment ceremony will be held at Fair Oaks Cemetery for friends and family. Should you wish to honor Dan’s memory, in lieu of flowers, his family urges you to donate to organizations such as The Sierra Club or the Yountville Veteran’s Home just as he would have.
