Darnell Gentry Ussery-Egan

Darnell Gentry Ussery-Egan, age 80, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on October 4th 2023, at her place of residence in Placer County, California. Darnell was a retired court reporter, primary leader in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a beloved wife, sister, aunt, friend, and mom-in-love. Darnell was born on April 17th 1943 at the Seaside Hospital in Long Beach to Delone Stott and Harry Dale Gentry.

Darnell was known at her church as “The Sticker Lady” because of her love of collecting stickers and giving them to the primary kids. She had a sharp wit, fantastic sense of humor and a relentless love for her family and friends. She loved to read, sew, garden, travel, and attend church.

She is survived by her husband James Egan, siblings Judy Winterbotham, Samuel Gentry, and Dale Gentry, her nieces Serri Rowell, Amber Decker, 10 additional nieces and nephews, 5 bonus children and 17 bonus grandchildren. Burial Ceremony will take place at Santa Clara Memorial Park in Lincoln on October 18th at 12pm. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Friday Oct 20th at 10am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lincoln - 1155 Liberty Ln, Lincoln, CA 95648
