Dolores Elaine Fikes

Dolores Elaine Fikes was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania on October 21, 1939. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family just two days after her 86th birthday.

When she was six years old, her family traveled by train to join relatives already settled in Redlands, California. As an adult she lived in many places, then settled in Citrus Heights in 1989.

Growing up Dolores was “Dodie” to her family and friends. After she became a grandmother, she became “Nammy” to everyone.

She was witty, feisty, and very loving. She enjoyed socializing and was liked by everyone.

Nammy’s greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved them with all her heart and thought the world of them.

She loved to go dancing, to crochet, do jigsaw puzzles, and thrift store shopping. She liked flowers, horses, and wolves. She enjoyed going to her great-granddaughters baseball games.

Preceded in death by her husband Alvin Courtois, her parents Howard and Mary Hendrickson, her siblings, Lois Joanne Franco, Maryln Ottmann, Howard (Howdy) Hendrickson Jr., and David Hendrickson, and her nieces Crystal and Francine and nephew David.

Survived by, children, Debora Engle, her husband Chuck Engle, Cheryl Phinney, Brian Fikes, and his husband Greg Howes, and Steve Fikes. Grandchildren Jared Skelton, his wife Kristen Skelton, Crystal Johnson and her husband Chris Johnson, Kristin LeCour, Joseph Phinney, Mariah Smith, and Ashley Fikes. Great-Grandchildren Payton Skelton, Devyn Skelton, Rylee Skelton, Gerald Goodell and Daniel Gelsleichter. Nieces and Nephews, Jeff, Mary, Yvette, Glenn (Rocky), Howard, Michael, Sandra, Diane, Richard, Cheryl, Douglas and their children and grandchildren. Sister-in-law Dorothy (Midge) Hendrickson (husband Howdy).
