On Sunday September 12, 2021, Don is once again holding hands with his beloved late wife, Donna. Their marriage started a family that thrived with three children: Sharlene Snoddy (Bill), Kendall Homer, and Randy Homer. He cherished his five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Don served in the Philippines during WWII and excelled in the mile while running track at BYU. He coached the Hurricane (Utah) High football team to a state championship. Thousands of students knew his no nonsense but caring attitude during his 33 years at Arden Middle School. A devoted, lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he and Donna served a mission in Richmond, VA. Whether he was coaching, playing, or just observing the world around him, he would analyze the situation, and then find a path that led to success or a life lesson that lasted long after the game was over. As a coach and teacher, his goal was not to mold the gifted into the great but help all whom he encountered find success in areas where they struggled. The joys he found in sport were no match for the love he brought to his family and friends The world was a better place because of the life he lived. Funeral services will be on September 16, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (2745 Eastern Ave., Sacramento, CA). The viewing will be at 12:30pm followed by funeral services at 1:30pm. Interment at the Cedar City Cemetery, Cedar City, Utah. PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (916-725-2109), directors.
