Doris Ann Haas Obituary

Doris A. (Fran) Haas of Gold River passed away on January 27th 2026. She was born on January 10th, 1929 to Ernest and Sylvia (Gustafson) Franson in Pittsburgh, PA.  She moved with her family to Red Oak, Iowa and graduated from Red Oak High School and the University of Iowa. She married Ronald F. Haas of Waukon, Iowa and they lived in Iowa, Illinois, and Minnesota before moving to Bismarck, North Dakota. She was active in AAUW, Past president of the League of Women Voters, a founding member of the Tre Kroner Swedish Society, served as a HUD commissioner, and Hospital Board Trustee for Med Center One. She was also employed by the North Dakota  Legislative Council before retiring. They retired to Sacramento where she was active with the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael, various local and national genealogy societies, and the Unitarian Universalist Society of Sacramento. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ron, and brother Evert Franson. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Haas, (Paul Davis), and grandchildren, Catherine and Andrew Davis (Lucy) and Leila, great-granddaughter.
Graveside Services only at Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa. Memorials in her name may be made to the Unitarian Universalist Society Of Sacramento, 2425 Sierra Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95828.
