In Loving Memory of Doris Carol Preston
Doris Carol Preston, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, passed away on June 10, 2025 in Roseville, California leaving behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and tireless service to others. She was born on January 6, 1949 in North Dakota to Edna and Jacob Nitschke.
Doris dedicated her professional life as a Medical Transcriptionist, known for her strong work ethic and unwavering dedication. She continued working with diligence and grace until illness prevented her from doing so.
A faithful member of the Lutheran Church of the Ascension for nearly forty years, Doris lived a life grounded in her Christian faith. She was deeply active in her church community and found great joy in helping others. Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew her.
Doris’s commitment to service extended beyond the church walls. A remarkable blood donor, she gave over 400 times, totaling more than 54 gallons — a quiet but powerful testament to her desire to give life and hope to others.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Preston and parents, Edna and Jacob. She is survived by her son Christopher, her daughter Michelle and son-in-law Michael, and her cherished grandchildren, Jackson and Parker. She is also survived by her brother Doug and sister-in-law Kelli, and many loved nieces and nephews.
Doris will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and church community.
