Dorothy Diana (Miller) Shular passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025 in Murray, Utah surrounded by those who loved her. She was born November 19, 1933 in Yuba City, California to Carl Charles and Sarah (Spence) Miller. She was the youngest of 10 children. She attended schools in California and graduated from San Juan High School. She met her husband, Leon Graydon Shular, when she agreed to go on a blind date with her friend. Leon and Diana fell in love and were married in Roseville, California in 1952. Diana went with Leon to New Jersey where he finished his military service. They were later sealed as a family in the Los Angeles California Temple on September 5, 1959.
Eventually settling in California, Diana Worked at many different jobs. She worked for a bank, the State of California and for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings in the church such as teacher, chorister in Primary, Relief Society President and as a worker in the Sacramento, California Temple where she loved serving. Diana and Leon served a mission in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and upon completion of their mission returned home where they were able to serve on many service missions.
Diana liked to quilt and made a quilt for her grandchildren as they married. She also helped to make mittens for the homeless shelter. She used her talents to bless the lives of many.
Diana and Leon enjoyed their Friday evening game night with their dear friends, the Regos. They kept the tradition going for many years. When it came time for Diana to move to Utah to be with her daughter, she sorely missed her time with the Regos.
Diana shared a special bond with her great-granddaughter, Shelby. They were temple buddies and had many sweet experiences in the temple.
Diana and Leon are the parents of 6 children, 23 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Steven Leon Shular, brothers Andrew Spence Miller, William Oscar Miller, Ronald Spence Miller, Earl Miller and Robert Spence Miller. Sisters Fannie (Miller) Frisbee, Rebecca Josephine (Miller) Lopes, Marian Miller, and Pearl (Miller) Gibby. She is survived by daughter-in-law Cindy (Schuld) Shular and her 5 children. Lucinda (Carbon) Lundgren, Rodger (Antonella) Shular, Cary (Sue) Shular, Christopher (Cindy) Shular, and Jay (Tricia) Shular.
Diana left behind a large posterity as well as many nieces, nephews and the friends she made throughout her life. We will remember Mom for her love, service and devotion to family and God.
Services will be Friday, May 30th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 211 Estates Dr, Roseville, California. Viewing 9:00-9:45am, 10:00am services. Interment at Sylvan Cemetery, Citrus Heights. Price Funeral Chapel (916-725-2109), directors.
