Dorsetta Marie Lundy

Our beloved, Dorsie, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home at the age of 81. She was born on December 7th, 1942 to Anna and Elroy Evers, and she was their only child. Being a military family, they moved often and they found themselves in Hawthorne, California when Dorsie was a young child.

As a young woman, she met and soon married the love of her life, Richard, who she loved and adored up until her final breath. Richard and Dorsie shared a beautiful 62 years in matrimony together and also gave life to their two daughters, Rebecca and Michelle.

Dorsie is remembered as a ray of sunshine who made friends everywhere she went. She had a hilarious sense of humor and despite having dementia in her later years, she had a quick wit that would catch you off guard and make you bust a seam.  She loved to travel and had been to Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, South America, and Canada. However, her favorite destination was always Disneyland, where she and Richard went on their first date, danced the night away, and the rest was history.

Dorsie was preceded in death by her parents, her Aunt “Dar” and Uncle “Bill” as well as her youngest daughter, Michelle who unfortunately passed in 2021. She leaves behind her loving husband, Richard, her eldest daughter Rebecca and her husband Alvin, her grandson Erik and his wife Nicole, two granddaughters Katie and Kelsey, and two great grandchildren Ethan and Avery.

The viewing and service for Dorsetta will be on Friday January 26th at Price Funeral Chapel (6335 Sunrise Blvd, Citrus Heights, CA, 95710). Please join us for the viewing anytime between 8:30am-10am. The service is closed casket and will begin at 10am. The burial will take place after the service and will be held at Fair Oaks Cemetery (7780 Olive St, Fair Oaks, CA, 95628). 

Please wear purple in her memory as that was her favorite color.
