Dusty Rhodes

Robert “Dusty” Rhodes left this world peacefully on July 1st, 2025, in Fair Oaks, CA. Dusty was born on June 7th, 1938, in Akron, OH, the son of Robert and Estelle Rhodes. Dusty had an exciting childhood as 1 of 8 siblings- working on dairy farms and migrant farmland, traveling all over the United States. At age 18, he joined the US Air Force where he faithfully served for 20 years. While stationed in France, he met and married his beloved Annette. They were married for 58 years until she passed in 2020. After retiring from the Air Force, Dusty and his family settled in Antelope, California where he worked 22 years for the California EDD. Dusty enjoyed traveling, gardening, and making friends with everyone around him. He is preceded in death by his wife Annette and his 7 siblings. He is survived by his two children, Patrick (Liane) Rhodes and Corinne (John) Wihl and his three grandchildren Stephanie (Miles) Kreidler, Matthew Wihl, and Nicole (Chris) Heron. In 2022, Dusty married once more and is survived by his current wife, Carrie Lane-Rhodes and her extended family. His stories of his many adventures will forever provide smiles to those with whom he shared. Rest in peace—our Dusty, Papa, Pépère.

Funeral Services will be held at Price Funeral Chapel (6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, CA 95610) on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 10 a.m. with a reception to follow. Final Committal Service will be at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA on August 11, 2025 at 10 a.m.
