Emelinda Alford Obituary

Emelinda Cunanan Alford peacefully passed away on March 31, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on November 1, 1943, in the Philippines, Emelinda was deeply influenced by the love of her parents, laying the groundwork for her compassionate nature.

Emelinda and her late husband, Lt. Col. John B. Alford (USAF Retired), shared an enduring bond that began in the Philippines, where they married during Emelinda's tenure as an Executive Assistant for the Lockheed Corporation. Even after John's passing on October 7, 2010, their connection remained steadfast, leaving Emelinda with cherished memories of their lifre together.

As a military spouse, Emelinda embraced a life of resilience and commitment, accompanying her husband across the globe, creating homes filled with love and laughter. In 1990, they settled in Citrus Heights, California, where John served at McClellan Air Force Base. They became integral members of the community, forming lasting connections with those around them.

Emelinda found joy not only in nurturing her family but also in pursuing her passions. A lover of music and dance, she immersed herself in the world of ballroom dancing, mastering its intricacies with grace and elegance.

Emelinda's legacy lives on in her devoted sons, Chris and Casey Alford, whom she raised with boundless love and dedication. Her affection also extended to her four beloved grandchildren, Calvin, Jace, Oliver, and Nora, who held a special place in her heart.

In addition to her immediate family, Emelinda is survived by her dear brother Lito and a loving extended family in the Philippines. She is now reunited with her parents and four cherished brothers in eternal peace.

Emelinda's final resting place will be beside her beloved John at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California, where their enduring love story will continue to inspire.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Disabled American Veterans, honoring Emelinda's commitment to service and compassion.

Though Emelinda's physical presence may be gone, her spirit will forever shine through the memories she created and the lives she touched, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
