Floretta Madden Cook

Floretta Madden Cook, born on January 8, 1949 in Cincinnati, Ohio and a longtime resident of Sacramento, CA passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018. She went to be with our Lord at the age of 69. She devoted her life to protecting, educating and loving children. She did this as a day-care provider for 40 years.  Floretta was talented, artistic, could sew beautifully, decorate cakes, and was a master of ceramic crafting. She always thought of others first due to her giving heart. She touched so many lives that were made better by knowing her.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a generous friend who was kind and caring. She will be missed by everyone. Floretta leaves behind a large loving family. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert J Cook Jr., five children, Tina L Defevere (Scot), Bobby Jo Cook (Jennifer), Brian W Cook (Denise), Bradley A Cook, Jeni L Diaz Cook (Vander), nine grandchildren; Joey Cook, Jessica Warner, Katelyn Cook, David Diaz, Gabriel Diaz, William Cook, Victoria Cook, Alexandria Cook, Jacob Diaz and is survived by three beloved great-grandchildren.  She also leaves behind countless family from her hometown of Lexington, Kentucky, which includes her brother Robert Burge. She has now been reunited in heaven with her mother, Christine Burge, her sister, Linda Flynn, her father John Madden, and many more whom she missed terribly and now she will spend eternity with them. She has been called home and will be watching over all of us.

We would love to have everyone celebrate her life with us.  The viewing and service will be held at Price Funeral Chapel located at 6335 Sunrise Blvd, Citrus Heights, California.  The viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 31st 2018. Her service will be Friday, June 1st 2018 at 10 a.m. and will be officiated by Pastor Bill Chapin.  

Floretta was a remarkable woman who might be gone, but will never be forgotten because through it all she made sure to let those around her know she loved them.
