It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Frances Jara. She passed away peacefully on the morning of March 26, 2025. She was born in Newcastle California on May 19, 1935 to Jesus and Bicenta Entizne. Her parents immigrated to the U.S from Spain in the early 1900's. She was the youngest of 7 children, Alice, Fred, Fred's twin brother who passed at birth Joe, Julie, Jesus (Junior) and Josie. They grew up in Rocklin and then in Roseville. Frances attended Vernon Street School and then Roseville High School. While attending high school during her senior year, she met the love of her life Ruben Jara. He was a handsome young man and the two fell in love instantly. That same year, Frances dropped out of high school and 11 days after she turned 18, she and Ruben were married on May 30th, 1953. They would ultimately be together for 59 years before Ruben's passing in 2013. Six months after their wedding, they welcomed their first child, Elena into the world. Over the next ten years they were blessed with three more children, Anita, Ruben and David. Frances did return to finish high school and received her diploma. She then became a teacher's aide in 1969 at Woodbridge Elementary, which she continued to do for the next 20+ years at both Woodbridge and Kaseberg Elementary. She was a great cook, always having something on the stove accompanied by beans, rice, and handmade flour tortillas. She often made pizza on Friday nights which was a treat. Knitting blankets was a hobby she loved to do as well. She made blankets for all her children and grandchildren, that many of them still have to this day. Her and Ruben took many trips to Mexico and across the country to visit and to be present for the births of their grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Elena (Tim), Anita, Ruben, and David (Lai). Grandchildren, Anita, Alfonso, Devin, Shelby, Sara, Matt, David, Kayla, Hunter and Rocco. 4 great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, siblings, and husband. She was an incredible mother and friend to many people and will be missed by all.
A visitation will be held Friday, April 4, 2025 at 9:00 AM at Price Funeral Chapel, 6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, CA 95610. Funeral Service is to follow at 11:00 AM.
