Fredrick Forsberg, age 73, of Sacramento, CA, passed away on September 28th, 2021 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Uno and Violet Forsberg; and his sister Diana Forsberg.
Fred was known for many years for his love and passion for running. While attending Polytechnic High School in San Francisco, he was an outstanding distance runner and set records for the school. He was a member of the undefeated championship cross country teams. As a sophomore, he put up the best time of the year in the last meet of the season. Fred’s time was 9 minutes and 59 seconds for the 1.9-mile course, marking the first time in several years that a sophomore has penetrated the 10-minute barrier. He was a very long-time employee of the local Campbell Soup factory in Sacramento, CA right up until the closure of the factory in 2013.
Fred was an avid movie buff when it came to movies that were filmed around the San Francisco Bay Area and could tell you where just about any shot was filmed at. Fred was such a skilled man who could fix just about anything mechanical. He would fix his own car in addition to other people’s cars. He would go out of his way to help others around him if they need anything fixed. It did not matter if was electrical or general labor, Fred did just about anything.
Fred leaves behind a loving family in his wife, Linda; his children, Fredrick, Chris, Robert; his sister Nancy Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Fred was always such a joy to be around and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the joy of knowing him.
A memorial will be conducted at his residence from 1:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. Saturday, October 9th.
