Gary Bailey Obituary

Gary Raymond Bailey, 72, passed away on February 9th, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at Kiaser Hospital. He died due to complications of Lung cancer.

Gary was born on May 8th, 1950, in San Francisco, Ca. to Raymond and Violet Bailey.  He was raised in San Rafael, Ca., attended Terra Linda Highschool and graduated in 1968. After high school he attended Junior college at College of Marin for 2 years and from there joined the Air Force reserves in 1970, with his best friend Paul Carmichael and served for 6 years.  Moved to Sacramento, Ca. in 1973, where he graduated from California State University in Arts and Sciences on January 18th, 1977.

After college, he took a job working as a service technician for a medical supply company and from there he branched out and took a job with DGI tool company for 20+ years.

In August of 2003, he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he diligently served faithfully many years in various callings.

On October 11th, 2003, he married the love of his life Debra Bailey, and they were sealed in the Oakland Temple on October 9th, 2004 for time and all eternity.

He has two perfect daughters Nina Shouse and Stephanie Torgersen and 1 dashingly handsome son Brendon Pacheco.

Gary’s last job was with Gainwell Technologies, and he retired in September of 2022.

Gary enjoyed surfing, golfing, riding his Harley…especially with Mom if she went, cycling at the gym and on his bike outdoors. He loved to repair anything that was broken to make new again. He loved spending time with his family and serving his family with whatever they needed. Loved serving in his church and loved the people that he served. His life was very much service oriented, and we all were blessed to be the recipients of his service. Loved to go to Disneyland and Disneyworld with his kids and grandkids. Loved going to Hawaii and being with his wife especially. Gary will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by his wife Debra, their 3 children Nina and her husband Jeff, Brendon and his wife Mian, Stephanie and her husband Danny, along with 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, his sister Kim Bailey, his cousin Vicki, cousin Steve with his wife Laurie and their family. Also, his sister in law Susan, her husband Rod and their family, his sister in law Cindy and her family, with many others.

We are saddened by the passing of our Dad, Husband, Grandfather, and Friend. Grateful for our knowledge in our Savior Jesus Christ and His plan. Knowing that life is eternal and that one day we will see him again, hug him again and live with him again is our greatest comfort. He is our hero.  Families are Forever.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 11am - 12:30pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (8583 Watt Ave., Antelope, Ca. 95626) with a luncheon following.
