On Friday, July 22 CMSGT (Retired) Gerald Gene Keroher (Jerry), passed away at the age of 90. Words are simply not enough to describe the amazing person he was nor the depth of our loss. He will be forever loved and missed by those who had the good fortune to know him.
Born: December 18, 1931 in Portland, Oregon. Raised by his mother Thelma in Oroville, California, where he attended Burbank Elementary School, Bird Street Elementary, and Oroville High School. Shortly after graduating high school, he began a career with the United States Air force that lasted over four decades and received numerous commendations including acknowledgements from Governor Pete Wilson and President George Bush.
Jerry met Dorothy (Dottie) Placy in 1952 and married her after three months. Like many military families they moved several times, before settling in Citrus Heights, California where they raised their three children, Rocky, Leanne and Brett. In 1989 he married Pat Taylor with whom he resided until 2004.
Known by many names; Jerry, Chief, Pops, and his most coveted Pappaw. He is survived by his son, Rocky Keroher (Cyndee), grandchildren Kylee (Craig), Kody (Kat), and Kacy (Ashley), great grandchildren Kannon, Harper, Hudson and Kooper. Preceded in death by mother Thelma, siblings Donald, Patricia, and Sue, children Leanne and Brett.
Friends and family are welcome to attend the memorial service on Thursday August 11, 2022 at 11:00AM at Price Funeral Chapel, 6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights.
