Grace Martinez

Grace Martinez, 78, of Sacramento, California, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on March 27, 1945, in Hayward, CA, to Lupino Lopez and Marcela Trujillo. Grace lost her father in infancy. She was lovingly raised by her mother and devoted stepfather, Pastor Anthony Trujillo. A cherished wife and mother, Grace brought up two sons, Anthony and Rudy, and a daughter, Lisha.

Grace was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. Patrick Martinez, and her cherished son, Rudy.

A pillar of faith, Grace was deeply involved in her church community, touching many lives with her compassionate nature and radiant joy. Dedicated to nurturing young minds, Grace made significant contributions as an early childhood educator at SETA Head Start before her well-deserved retirement. She leaves behind her surviving children, Anthony and Lisha, who will forever cherish their memories with her.

A funeral service will be held at The Light Christian Church, 7257 East Southgate Drive, Sacramento, CA 95823, on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Grace will be laid to rest the following day, Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Sylvan Cemetery, 7401 Auburn Boulevard, Citrus Heights, CA 95610. All family and friends are cordially invited. Grace's unwavering devotion, selfless spirit, and steadfast faith have left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed, and her memory cherished. May her soul find eternal peace.
