Iris Ann (Lundgren) Mickelson is finally reunited with the love of her life Floyd Dewayne Mickelson. She lived a long, happy life and passed away peacefully on April 30, 2022. She was born on February 4th, 1928 in Casper, Wyoming to Evdor and Zella Lundgren.
Iris grew up during the depression, moving around a lot. She met Floyd when she was 17 and soon after they were married. They had nine children.
Iris was a devout Christian all her life. She often said, “Jesus comes first, then my husband, children and family.”
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, doting on her family and was happiest when her large brood surrounded her. Every summer she hosted a family reunion in some mountain near some lake, filling up several camp grounds.
Music was an important part of her life. She played the guitar and sang mostly hymns and praises to our Savior. Song writing was also one of her passions. Her songs were mostly about Jesus and some about her Floyd. She wrote one particular song about him after he passed away in 1985 titled “Darling I Miss You.” She is now by his side again.
Iris is survived by eight of her children: Larry Dean, Kathleen Sue DeGaton, Pamela Jean Kannan, Floyd Randall, Deborah Lou Hornback, Kevin Ray, Bobbi Rachelle Sanders and Timothy Paul and too many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren to mention.
She will be greatly missed by all!
Friends and family are welcome to attend the memorial service on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 1:00PM at Price Funeral Chapel, 6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, CA 95610.
