Jacqueline Esther Irene Ward

Jacqueline Esther Irene Rose Ward was born on March 27, 1929 in Denver Colorado. In April of that year, she was adopted by a loving couple, Jacob and Emma Rose. She resided in Denver until the age of 15. In 1944, the Rose family moved to Carmichael, California. The young Miss Rose attended San Juan High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1947. She then attended Sacramento City College. She fell in love with her good friend's brother, Carl Ward, and they were married in 1952. In 1955 they welcomed a baby girl, Carla. 

At the age of 56 Jacquie became a widow and proved over and over again to be a strong and resilient woman. She overcame many health issues, so many that her daughter called her "miracle mom." She celebrated 50 years of sobriety.

Jacquie enjoyed bowling, golfing, swimming, a good laugh, fashion, spa days, knitting and traveling. Her favorite places to visit always included the ocean. She was an avid knitter who supplied her family and friends with her latest creations; warm stocking caps, baby blankets and dish scrubs just to name a few. 

Jacquie died peacefully on January 2, 2025 in her home in Citrus Heights, California. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ward. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Bill Ryan; and her grandson, William James Ryan Jr.

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and a proud grandmother.

She will be dearly missed.  

A Graveside service will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Park 8201 Green back Lane, Fair Oaks, CA 95628 on Friday, January 10th at 10am.
