James Peter Chronis (JP) beloved father passed away on 02 December 2022. He was 92 years old. Born to Mary (Theodorou) Chronis and Peter Chronis in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin on 09 April 1930. He is survived by his 2 children, Fredrick James Chronis (Colonel, U.S. Army, ret.) and Alessandra Maryanna Chronis, and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins around the world. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Theodorou) Chronis and Father, Peter Chronis, his brother Nickolas Chronis, his sister Sophie (Chronis) Stansell, his sister, Katherine (Chronis) Murak. JP entered the United States Air Force 1955 and was stationed all over the world, his favorite places included Greece and Germany. While living in Germany he became an avid skier and served as President of “WASKI” (Wiesbaden American Ski Club). He loved skiing the Alps in Austria, Switzerland and Germany and sharing the experience with his many Military and civilian friends. He moved to Sacramento, California in 1987 from Germany where he retired from the USAF. He chose Sacramento, because of the many friends and acquaintances he had from his military days in Wiesbaden, Germany. He loved Germany and its culture and joined the “Stammtisch” in Sacramento, where he had very close ties with German friends. He finally chose a home in Orangevale, CA and used his many skills and hobbies to renovate his home, which he enjoyed tremendously. He was a long time Freemason and Shriner and was active his entire adult life. He was one of few Americans that became a Brother of the Bruderschaft den Deutschen Freimauer while serving in Germany. Funeral Services will be held at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery at 2:15pm on Friday, 20 January 2023. A celebration of Life will be held at his home immediately after.
